We asked Michelle Mohammed, who plays Puck in our production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, a few questions about herself, her character, and working with BASH'd...

What’s the best line in the play?
Can I pick two? I'm picking two.
Helena: "And though she be but little, she is fierce." (3.2)
Puck: "Lord, what fools these mortals be!" (3.2)

If you were in "The Most Lamentable Comedy and Most Cruel Death of Pyramus and Thisbe" which character would you play?
Probably "Wall".

If your character were at the Monarch Tavern, what drink would they order?
Puck would send around free glasses of the best champagne and right before a person is about to drink it, he would change it into a really cheap vodka (the kind that tastes like rubbing alcohol).

Who is your favourite pop-culture fairy?
Does the Tooth Fairy count? You get money from the Tooth Fairy, so I would pick the Tooth Fairy.

If you could have one magical power what would it be?
Time travel! I want to go back in history, maybe follow my ancestry and mingle with some predominate historical figures.

What is your history with Shakespeare BASH'd?
This is my first production with Shakespeare BASH'd, and I fell in love with the company and their spirit and smarts in my audition. I feel lucky to join a room of artists every week that are so interested in the work.  BASH'd is definitely an "actor's company" where what matters most is the text, and what every person's mind, soul, and spirit has to offer to this piece. For an actor that so values Shakespeare, it is an absolute treasure to be working in this way.
