Company Interviews: Bailey Green, Associate Director
We asked Bailey Green, who is the Associate Director and Assistant Fight Director for our production of As You Like It, a few questions about herself, the show, and music...
What is your favourite forest?
Big fan of a forest in fall, especially up north in Quebec. The quiet, the colours, the chill in the air, just the best. Late summer’s pretty great too, once the mosquitos have calmed down.
What’s the best line in the play?
You touch’d my vein at first
Who is your favourite pro wrestler?
“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.
Did you ever write love poetry?
Oh gosh, as a teenager I definitely did. Unrequited love and longing were central themes. Waiting for nightfall, you and I together, let's run away from this place, they don't understand us—I think you get the picture here.
What is your favourite 1960's love song?
So many good ones to choose from... but I have to go with Dr. Feelgood (Love is a Serious Business) by Aretha Franklin
If you could see one band/musician at any time in the past, present, or future, who would that be?
Prince.
What are you most excited for people to see in this production?
One of the things I love about this play is how so many of these characters just don't have it "figured out" yet. They're in a time of transition and transformation in their lives and the forest of Arden gives them a place to explore and be free. The atmosphere, the music, the love stories, it is magic—this play is the perfect welcome to summer.
