Company Interviews: Brittany Kay as Phoebe
We asked Brittany Kay, who plays Phoebe in our production of As You Like It, a few questions about herself, the play, and her drink preferences...
Have you been in a production of As You Like It before?
I played Celia in Grade 12 and while I loved everything about that part, I secretly wished I was Phoebe!
What’s the best line in the play?
"Do you not know I am a woman? When I think, I must speak."
- Rosalind, Act 3, Scene 2
"Who ever loved that loved not at first sight?"
- Phoebe, Act 3, Scene 5
If your character were at Junction City Music Hall, what drink would they order?
A Long Island Iced Tea (would they even serve that?...she’d probably demand it if not!)
What is your post-show drink of choice?
Bourbon on ice.
Tell us about your history with Shakespeare BASH'd.
I have been a long, long time fan, patron and admirer of Shakespeare BASH’d. This is my first production with the company and I couldn’t feel more excited and lucky. I think the cherry on top of this experience, is the fact that I get the share the stage with my best friend, Hallie. What a dream :)
If you could see one band/musician at a music festival at any time in the past, present, or future, who would that be?
Fleetwood Mac
What are you most excited for people to see in this production?
The music, ugh it gets me every time.
