Company Interviews: Julia Nish-Lapidus - Director
We asked Julia Nish-Lapidus, the director of our production of Richard III, a few questions about herself, the play, and her drink preferences...
Richard famously calls for strawberries from the garden. What’s your favourite strawberry-based dish?
Oooh, strawberry ice cream! The kind with real chunks of strawberry in it.
What’s the best line in the play?
"Come, let us sup betimes, that afterwards
We may digest our complots in some form."
...COMPLOTS!
William and Kate or Harry and Meghan?
I think I have to go William and Kate, but only because of the made for tv movie about them. Years ago, James (my husband, and Richard in this show) and I drank a lot of wine and watched that movie and James says it's the night he knew he wanted to marry me. I'm pretty irresistible after a couple bottles of rosé.
Coffee or Tea?
Tea! Black tea with a little honey, please.
Beer or wine?
Beer.
What are you most excited for people to see in this production?
The insanely amazing work of the cast and entire team; the beautiful language; the fascinating, hilarious, horrifying story that's all too relevant today - really just the whole thing!
