Company Interviews: Cara Pantalone as Adam, Corin, and Oliver Martext
We asked Cara Pantalone, who plays Adam, Corin, and Sir Oliver Martext in our production of As You Like It, a few questions about herself, the production, and music...
Who is your favourite pro wrestler?
Macho Man Randy Savage. Even had the purple t-shirt with the sunglasses to prove it. Oh-yeah!
What is your favourite 1960's love song?
God Only Knows, by the Beach Boys. Perfection.
What is your post-show drink of choice?
Beer. Ontario Craft if I had a choice. And Junction City Music Hall has a great selection.
What have you done with Shakespeare BASH'd before?
This is my 3rd time working with BASH’d. The music is very unique in this production and an integral part of the story. The audience will be humming these songs for weeks.
If you could see one band/musician at a music festival at any time in the past, present, or future, who would that be?
This is such a hard question for me, I love live music and love a good concert.
Top 5 is what I can narrow it down to.
1- The Beatles. .. come on. Even if you don't like them, THE BEATLES.
2- Nick Drake ... I just love his story telling and vulnerability.
3- QUEEN .... because, come on, it’s the same as the Beatles. (With Freddy)
4- Sam Cooke...activist, gospel singer, soul singer. I can listen to him for days without taking the records off.
5- Nat King Cole - jazz pianist, band leader and (in my opinion) one of the best voices on the “pop charts.”
.. being at Woodstock or the original Monterey would have been out of the world.
It would also be great to see a huge music festival that highlighted Canadian Music.
Okay. I’ll shut up about live music now.
What are you most excited for people to see in this production?
The cast! The people in this show are amazing. Well done BASH’d for putting this team together. Every rehearsal I’m laughing, smiling and discovering a new favourite line or scene. I know the audience is going to enjoy it just as much as I have been.
