Company Interviews: Christopher Brackett, Stage Manager
We asked Christopher Brackett, the stage manager of Cymbeline, a few questions about himself, camping, and fairy tales...

What is your history with Shakespeare BASH'd?
This is my fourth show with the BASH’d team! Cymbeline is unique because it’s the first show I’ve ever done with the company at Junction City Music Hall.
Shakespeare BASH'd sets its productions in bars. What is the weirdest place you've done a show?
The abandoned Hearn Generating Station. Rufus Wainwright was performing Judy Garland’s 'JUDY at Carnegie Hall’ album backed by a full orchestra. It was so dirty, dusty and dark. But I’ll never forget how incredible the orchestra sounded in such a vast and open building – it was an unreal experience!
What is your post-show drink of choice?
Always a stiff gin and soda, or a hoppy, hoppy IPA.
What's your favourite fairy tale?
Beauty & the Beast! It’s a tale as old as time.
If you were running away into the woods, who would you take with you and why?
Into the woods, where nothing’s clear? Where witches, ghosts and wolves appear?
I’d take anyone who gets that reference into the woods with me.
Tell us about your most ridiculous camping experience.
We were camping at Algonquin with a chipmunk-whisperer and his family. Something awful happened between me and one of the chipmunks and I locked myself inside our trailer for the remainder of our trip as a result. I would spend each day watching my family through the vinyl windows of our pop-up trailer and any time I needed to go anywhere, my dad would carry me…he’s the real MVP.
Also, I still have a fear of chipmunks…
What are you most excited for people to see in this production?
This chipmunk-free company of performers and their infectious energy.
