Company Interviews: Catherine Rainville - Designer

We asked Catherine Rainville, who is designing our production of Twelfth Night, a few questions about herself, the play, Shakespeare, and her drink preferences...
What part of the city do you live in, and what is the best thing about your neighbourhood?
Leslieville. The people. There is a huge sense of community there. 

What is your favourite scene or line in Twelfth Night?
"Have you commission from your lord to negotiate with my face?"

Who do people say is your celebrity twin?
More of a character – Debra Morgan. Dexter’s sister. 

This production is set in the 1920s in Paris. What is your favourite thing about that era?
Smoking cigarettes and drinking out of tiny crystal glasses. 

What are you most looking forward to about this production?
Bringing it all together with everyone. Working on design feels very separate from the group creation process. So I look forward to tech when I get to see it all the elements settle into each other.

What are you going to drink to celebrate opening night at the Monarch Tavern?
Bulleit and beer.
