Shakespeare BASH’d is now accepting submissions for upcoming general auditions to be held on April 20, 2024.
We are looking to meet new Toronto artists and see their work.
Shakespeare BASH’d strives for non-traditional casting in our work and we strongly encourage submissions from artists of diverse backgrounds including, but not limited to: race, ethnicity, gender, body-type, and sexuality.
At this time, we are also especially interested in meeting Jewish artists and encourage people to self-identify in their submissions.
Shakespeare BASH’d works under the Equity Artists’ Collective Policy, operating on profit share with a minimum guarantee. We strive to present the plays with simple staging, clear and specific language, and an emphasis on the text and actors telling the story.
We hope to have the opportunity to meet professional, enthusiastic, and driven performers who share our love of digging into Shakespeare’s work.
We thank everyone for their interest; however only those selected for an audition will be contacted.
Successful candidates will be contacted with more details and to set-up an audition time.
Please email a resume and headshot to [email protected] no later than Friday, April 5th.
Please include in the body of your email a brief introduction to your relationship with classical text.
At this time, we’re looking to see actors who we have not met before. If you have previously worked with or auditioned for the company, please send us an email expressing your interest, so we can consider you for the upcoming season.
We look forward to hearing from you!
