Who we are:
Shakespeare BASH'd is an award-winning, Toronto-based theatre company, presenting Shakespeare’s plays in a bare bones style, with a chief focus on the text and clarity of storytelling.
This season focuses on the theme of "strange bedfellows." Our season brings together three plays exploring relationships brimming with love, sex, violence, sacrifice, and loyalty. We’ll delve into worlds of comic mania, satirical reversals, and crushing devastation as we go on a journey with our “strange bedfellows.”

How You Can Help:
The truth of the matter is that theatre requires a great deal of money and each season costs grow and require an increased budget. We at Shakespeare BASH’d are committed to giving increasing support to our artists, who receive the entirety of our box office revenue.
Our goal is to raise money to pay for preliminary costs for the productions this season. We aim to keep costs low, and try to allow no waste of time or money in our work.
We are dedicated to bringing you a hard-working company, great text, and an accessible, fantastic night for all at a great Toronto venue! Every dollar donated goes a long way to helping make this possible.
The Impact:
Any amount of money donated to this fundraising campaign will go to a number of very important aspects of our work. For any given production we need to pay for our venue, rehearsal space, costumes, props, printing of scripts, transportation, photography, and promotion/marketing.
We are thrilled with the incredible talent involved in our programming this season, including artists direct from the country’s largest festivals. Every dollar contributed helps us offer more compensation to these amazing artists.
Over the past years we have worked to develop our impact within the community through our education department, which also has some small administrative costs, which we strive not to pass along to the participants, keeping all participation costs affordable.
Though we work to keep these costs low, they are integral to helping us do what we do. Any amount of money helps us to properly budget our season in a way that prioritizes the experience of our audience and artists.
We are so fortunate to have the privilege to produce theatre in Toronto. We hope that you will support us in any way you can to continue our wonderful company’s tradition of performing amazing Shakespeare in great atmospheres across the city.
